We had a great session with Nicole and Corey. If you can’t tell, they are Florida Gator fans and that was Nicole’s way of convincing Corey that the shoot wouldn’t be so bad. They did great and we captured some fun shots of the two of them. We met at De Soto National Memorial where they have this huge gumbo-limbo tree. We started the shoot there and worked our way around this great site. If you haven’t been there… it is worth spending a couple of hours checking it out.
Nicole and Corey will be getting married next March 27th at the Hilton on Longboat Key. The ceremony will be outside with an outside tented reception. We plan on being there to cover their special day. Thanks again to both of you for allowing us to photograph your engagement session and we look forward to the wedding!

What is a photo walk? It’s a social photography event where photographers get together, usually in a downtown area or trendy section of town, to walk around, shoot photos, and generally have fun with other photographers. We participated in the Safety Harbor, FL event and it was HOT, enjoyable, and offered some interesting shooting opportunities. Below are some of our shots from the walk.

I recently had the privilege of having Curt Littlecott as a mentor for the day. Not only did I get to work with Curt, but with his awesome partner at nu visions in photography, Stephanie Rounds. We started the morning off at their amazing studio (be sure to click that link for photos) in downtown Orlando. The space also serves as a wine bar on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. The models for the day were Emily and Teresa, with some additional shots of make up artist, Marjorie Robinson and her assistant, who’s name I can’t remember (sorry).
As the models were having hair and makeup done, we discussed our shooting locations for the day and went over equipment. We did take a few shots of Emily in some alleys near the studio before heading out to the first location. It was at a very cool warehouse with some bright and colorful artwork on the outside of the buildings and equally as interesting insides. We came up with a few spots to shoot and set up the lights. The warehouse was not very cool temperature wise (no a/c), but the models and make up artists didn’t complain. We got some great some shots and as we were rapping up the inside shots, we got a quick Florida shower. We took this time to shoot Teresa outside with an umbrella and then both here and Emily had a little tug of war with it. (Link to shots from the day will be at the end of the post). The rain passed after a few minutes and we loaded up the vehicles and back to the NV studio. Did I mention how cool this place is?
Curt and Stephanie ordered a couple of pizzas and it was gone fast. After the brief rest, we were off to our second location, the Orlando Executive Airport. Stephanie had arranged this location and wow… it couldn’t have been better. The earlier rains left some great clouds in the sky and we had an acrobatic plane, runway, air-control tower, huge hanger and 3 great models to shoot. We quickly set up lights again and started shooting. The original idea was to do some 70′s glam shots, possibly black and white or heavily desaturated. After we saw that first shot in color, we stayed with it! The models were great and the shots turned out incredible. We finished the day back at the studio with a couple of shanty’s and loaded up the images for everyone to view.
Thank you again to Curt, Stephanie, Rosemarie, Emily and Teresa (and the other make up artist, he was great too)! I learned a tremendous amount and had a blast working with everyone.
