Raging Retro – (raging) – the object of widespread enthusiasm, as for being popular or fashionable. (retro) – of or designating the style of an earlier time. A photographic experience… producing creatively styled images that are fun, exciting and raging retro!

I was asked (again) to shoot and create and the promotional materials for Atomic Holiday Bazaar. Thanks to Adrien Lucas, co-founder of the event and owner of Tuff Betty Bags for trusting me with this for the second year. We created the posters, flyers and postcards for last years event and had great feedback on them and hope to get the same results with this year’s design.

Atomic Holiday Bazaar features affordable, irreverent to elegantly edgy craft for the terminally hip. Be sure to save the dates for – Saturday Evening, December 12, 2009, 6 p.m. – 11:30 p.m and Sunday, December 13, 2009, Noon – 6 p.m. Sarasota Municipal Auditorium.

I have had the pleasure and privilege of shooting both Madison and John for a few years now. Madison was just months old when we did our first shoot. She is growing up so quick and is much more comfortable being photographed than she used to be. I’ve shot John’s high school football games, senior photos, and most recently graduation. But this session was really special. John was accepted to Troy State University and this weekend the whole family made the trip to help him settle into his new place. I love the bond that this big brother has with his little sister. I can’t describe how cute it is to here Madison say “Johnny”… she loves her big brother. When Christine sent me an email, asking if I’d be interested in shooting her for a casting call to the retro tv show Mad Men, how could I say no? Many of you know Christine and she’d be perfect for, well, just about any walk on role. So we asked our friend Lauren Mitchell who is a fabulous makeup artist to help out. She is MAC trained and is incredibly talented and super fun and easy to work with.

A couple of posts ago… We put up some of our images from the Photo Walk we did in Safety Harbor, FL. Each participant was allowed to submit 2 of their best photos to be judged by the walk leader and then continue on in the competition against all other Photo Walk cities.  The deadline for each leader to pick and submit their winning photo was August 1st… and… Alicia’s image was the winner!!!!! See image below. Congratulations to Alicia!!!!! Let’s all keep our finger’s crossed for the World Winning Official Announcement on August 17th.
